Kent State and the Arab Spring

On 30 April  1970, US President Richard Nixon addressed the nation on the subject of a planned invasion of Cambodia.  Over the next few days, anti-war demonstrations erupted across America.  On 4 May, Ohio’s Kent State University was no exception. Over two thousand young protestors rallied.  Ohio’s National Guard was called in.  Rocks and gas canisters were thrown. The Twitter Generation

They are easy to spot in Deborah Wheeler’s class at American University of Kuwait. They favor brightly colored Polo shirts, cargo shorts and sandals.
